9 White Deer Brewery

9 White Deer Brewery is nestled in the heart of Ballyvourney and its name has a close link to our famous saint, St Gobnait. According to folklore, St Gobnait was told by an angel that where she comes upon 9 White Deer she will also find a mystical well and to then set up an abbey and a church. This site is located just 1 kilometre from the brewery. 9 White Deer Brewery makes the highest quality Irish gluten free beer. Folláin

Folláin jams and marmalades are one of the easily recognised products from the Muscraí Gaeltacht and their history began in Cuil Aodha. Established in 1983, when Mairin Ui Lionard met Eithne Ui Shiadhail in the honey business, it turned out that they both loved cooking and had a shared passion of preserving tradition. It was using a 100-year-old recipe for grapefruit marmalade that led to the first preserve being made, which was then brought to market. Word quickly spread about the delicious offerings from Cuil Aodha. Over the years, the business expanded greatly and led them to move to a purpose built kitchen and factory in Ballyvourney. Follain are now supplying many major retailers in Ireland, as well as numerous hotels and restaurants including our own. Follain is also exported all over the world. We also retails follain products in our own shop, An Siopa at The Mills.
