Our weekend holidays & art workshops are set in the Magical Mills Inn Hotel, which is set amidst very beautiful hills and forest countryside, on the banks of the Sullane River at the foot of the Derrynasaggart Mountains. Here are tranquil, undiscovered mountain trails and walkways, at the gateway to this central West Cork Gaeltacht with its own distinctive Gaelic dialect.

Day 1: Friday Afternoon: Mills Inn West Cork, Ireland
Workshop members will arrive at The Mills Inn Hotel, which is in the small village of Ballyvourney, in the heart of the beautiful West Cork Gaeltacht. Relax over tea & Coffee and explore your three star hotel. At 8pm you will meet with Pauline Dodds your tutor for an Introduction and get to know other workshop members. The Mills Inn family hotel was recently renovated to a comfortable three star standard, and it has a fascinating history. The building was established in 1755 by James Colthurst as stop-off stagecoach for travelers, and was originally part of the Colthurst estate. Your hotel has every comfort: beautiful rooms, classically decorated and luxuriously furnished to a high standard, with elegant antique furniture happily co-existing with contemporary comforts and facilities, satellite TV and telephone. There is a bar, restaurant with home cooking and a tranquil garden. Across the courtyard there is a beautiful food emporium and gift shop, all workshop members will receive a 10% discount voucher. The surrounding countryside offers outstanding painting subjects.
Day 2: Saturday: Mills Inn West Cork, Ireland
Morning: After your full Irish breakfast Pauline Dodds will lead her first painting demonstration in the mature gardens, close to the hotel where there is also an old castle ruin. Afterwards Pauline will move among the group helping everyone with their work. Lunch will be at leisure.
Afternoon: Sketching & painting in the Country Park adjacent to the Hotel providing an opportunity to explore subject such as trees, paths, rivers and bridges. A delicious full dinner will be available in the evening in An Pesky’s Restaurant. Afterwards relax and unwind in the bar while listening to Live Music.
Day 3: Sunday Mills Inn West Cork Ireland.
After your full Irish breakfast you will enjoy a group painting session. Pauline will demonstrate in the morning and guide workshop members with their work until mid-afternoon. Check out at noon.

Additional cost of €20 is required if equipment & materials are needed..
